Avisomo, Bergen Carbon Solutions, and NordicEPOD. The jury notes that these finalists stand out for their high degree of innovation across different industries and from various parts of the country.
"All three were strong contenders, but in the end, Bergen Carbon Solutions that was named the winner of this year’s Special Award."
The Jury’s Statement:
The winner is an innovative company that is doing things in new ways within a strategically important area of sustainable development. From its production site at Flesland outside Bergen, the company is developing solutions that contribute to “saving the world.”
The company produces valuable raw materials from CO₂ emissions and creates new products for the global market. If they succeed fully with their initiative, it could represent a major breakthrough for the environment. The company transforms CO₂ into products such as advanced carbon nanotubes, which enhance the electrical conductivity of batteries and thereby increase battery capacity.

Bergen Carbon Solutions has developed an electrolysis technology that converts CO₂ emissions into the battery materials of the future through a unique carbon capture method. Instead of storing CO₂ in depleted oil fields, they transform it into valuable products. This has the potential to create a profitable green industry without the need for large government subsidies.
